I'm a London-based economist with a PhD from the University of Washington, Seattle. I've split my career between academia and industry, with peer-reviewed research and papers cited by major outlets. I've taught economics and statistics at universities in the US, Canada, and Argentina. I now also help secondary school students carry out independent research projects, including submissions to international journals for high-school students, the UK's EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), the IB Extended Essay, and other forms of academic research, through Creative Research Tutoring (CRT). Structure & rigor
We start by finding a question a student is genuinely curious about, then work through to a finished piece they're proud of.
AI, used well
We treat AI as a research tool to use well, not avoid or lean on blindly. Using it thoughtfully is a genuine research skill, one most students are never explicitly taught.
Communication & attention
We focus as much on the softer side: communication, creativity, structuring an argument, and presenting findings. Skills that carry through to university and beyond.
